PRIVACY / OPERATING STATUS
Clear about
where things stand.
Last reviewed 18 October 2026. This notice describes how the protected Touring Works preview behaves today. It is deliberately transparent about the details that must be completed before the public domain is connected.
THE CURRENT POSITION
Privacy without
the small print
feeling small.
This page explains what the protected preview does today, how an early-stage enquiry is handled, and the details still to be completed before Touring Works operates publicly.
What happens to an enquiry
The website has no form-submission endpoint, database or visitor account system. Entries in the enquiry builder stay in the current browser session. If you choose Email enquiry, the website prepares a draft in your own mail app addressed to info@touringworks.co.uk. Nothing is delivered until you choose to send that email.
Any photos you select stay on your device and are not attached automatically. If you attach photographs yourself, they become part of the email you send.
| Information | Why it may be used | Current route |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email, telephone, town/area, vehicle and requested services | To respond to an enquiry, discuss suitability, prepare a quotation if requested and manage potential work. | Only in an email that you choose to send. |
| Notes and photos you choose to attach | To understand the vehicle, condition and requested work. | Only in an email that you choose to send. |
| Technical access information | To run, secure and diagnose the hosted website. | Ordinary hosting and security logs may be processed by Vercel. |
How email data will be handled
When an enquiry is received, the intended purposes are responding to it, assessing the potential scope of work and taking steps you request before any contract. The expected UK GDPR lawful bases are legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business, and—where applicable—taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
The current enquiry mailbox is operated through Touring Works’ LCN email account. If the initiative moves into public trading, the live notice will identify the responsible operator, any processors or additional recipients, and any relevant international-transfer information. Touring Works does not currently use enquiry data for newsletter or promotional email marketing.
Planned retention: an unconverted enquiry and its correspondence will be deleted within 12 months of the last meaningful contact, unless it is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Customer, accounting and job records—if the business begins trading—may need different lawful retention periods and will be covered by final terms and notices.
Cookie policy
This preview does not load analytics, advertising technologies, social-media pixels, embedded social feeds or other non-essential storage and access technologies. It does not use local storage to retain enquiry entries. Therefore there is no cosmetic cookie banner or optional tracking to accept.
Some BTCC Resto, Rally Resto, GT Resto and Racing Team preview pages currently display credited reference images hosted by their original third-party sources. Opening those pages makes a request to the relevant image host, which can receive ordinary technical information such as your IP address and browser details. These images are not used for analytics, advertising, social-media tracking or profiling. Before a public launch, Touring Works will either serve appropriately cleared images itself or complete the relevant supplier, rights and privacy review and update this notice.
Vercel’s authentication protection for this restricted preview may use strictly necessary technical mechanisms to secure access. Ordinary hosting and security logs may also be produced. Before a public launch, any cookies or similar technologies actually in use will be listed here.
If Touring Works later adds analytics, advertising, embedded social content or other non-essential technology, it will be prevented from loading until the visitor has made a meaningful choice. Plain links to Facebook, Instagram and TikTok do not load those services until a visitor chooses to open them.
Your rights and contact
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of your personal data, and to data portability. Please contact info@touringworks.co.uk in the first instance. The final public notice will identify the controller and its full contact details.
If you are unhappy with the response, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
What must be settled before public launch
- Decide how Touring Works will operate if it begins public trading, then publish the appropriate responsible person or business, contact details and any statutory information that applies to that structure.
- Confirm whether an ICO data-protection fee is due and complete the assessment or registration as appropriate.
- Confirm the retention schedule, exact email/hosting processor information and any international data-transfer wording.
- Replace or verify the rights, hosting and privacy position for every externally hosted reference image used on the Resto and Racing preview pages.
- Publish service terms, pricing or quotation process, cancellation information and payment/deposit terms before taking remote bookings, deposits or online orders.
- Keep this notice current if analytics, marketing, embedded content, social pixels, booking software or payment tools are introduced.
