Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide. Compressed air carries it to the surface, where the process helps loosen deposits and the ice turns back into gas.
There is no blasting water and no grit-based media to leave behind. The loosened dirt still needs collecting, and each surface needs the right approach.
CO2
No blasting water.
The dry-ice stage uses solid CO₂ and compressed air, rather than a water jet.
01
No grit left behind.
The dry ice becomes gas. Removed oil, dirt and other deposits are collected.
02
Control, not force.
Condition checks, suitable settings and care around vulnerable surfaces guide the work.
03
Cleaning is not corrosion repair. Fragile finishes, loose coatings and aged components need individual assessment.
03 / OUR APPROACH
Understand the car. Then clean with care.
Dry-ice cleaning is selected around the condition of the vehicle, the surfaces involved and the access that can be agreed safely.
01↗
Assess the car.
Review the intended cleaning areas, surface condition, access and any vulnerable components before the scope is agreed.
02↗
Set the method.
Use dry ice only where it is suitable, with controlled settings, appropriate masking and excluded areas clearly identified.
03↗
Clean & document.
Clean the agreed areas, collect the released deposits and document visible condition, access limits and any findings.
04↗
Keep the record.
Photographs, cleaned areas, observations and practical aftercare notes form the proposed handover.
FOR OWNERS WHO LOOK A LITTLE CLOSER
More than surface appeal.
Whether it is a cherished classic, a weekend performance car or a well-used daily, the point is the same: care for the visible details as well as the areas beneath the surface.
Private owners and independent specialists are welcome to discuss dry-ice cleaning for suitable vehicles.
No single cleaning method suits every surface or condition. Age, repairs, loose paint, coatings, wiring and fragile parts all need assessment. The method and scope should be chosen around the car, with unsuitable areas excluded or an alternative approach agreed.
Will this remove rust or repair corrosion?+
Dry-ice cleaning is not a substitute for rust removal or metal repair. We do not offer welding, perforation repairs, structural corrosion repairs or mechanical repairs. Suspected structural damage requires separate specialist assessment.
How is dry-ice cleaning priced?+
Each car needs an agreed scope. The cleaning areas, access, preparation and condition all affect the work required. Extra work is discussed before proceeding. This preview offers no prices or bookings.
Do wheels, liners or undertrays need removing?+
Sometimes. Access is assessed first and any removal and refitting is agreed as part of the scope. A wheel-arch clean and a full underside clean can involve different levels of preparation. Seized fixings or fragile parts may limit access and would be discussed before proceeding.
How long will the work take?+
That depends on the car, access and the agreed scope. Timing would be agreed after assessment. This preview does not allocate appointments.
Where is the workshop, and can I book now?+
Touring Works is based in Leamington Spa. The specific workshop address, service area and launch date are still to be confirmed. This is a pre-launch website preview, not an active booking service. The enquiry builder below can be tested, but it does not send messages or reserve a slot.
